Crane Baby, AGAIN

June 2nd, 2010

I’ve formatted a copy of Cranes for YouTube, and finished up my production notes as well. I was sure to briefly cover technical as well as conceptual points with the addition of a streaming version of the short, and now you can VIEW THEM ALL TOGETHER IN ONE PLACE (OMG)!!

EDWIN Episode 3

May 25th, 2010

Last month I did a bit of voice work for a couple characters for the third episode in Keiran Segrue’s vampire hunter series Edwin, which so far has been fairly popular on Newgrounds.com.

This episode earned some high scoring NG awards and spent some time on the front page for a bit. Watch it HERE!

I’ve been trying to broaden my voice acting ability/experience in preparation for a few upcoming animations of my own, and so hopefully will be on board for the next episode as well. Also, the characters in question may or may not intentionally look something like myself.
May or may not.
Just saying.

CRANE BABY!

April 23rd, 2010

So it seems that I haven’t updated in months. I should mention first of all that the Winter Olympics happened, so I had to take a drinking break… which is not to be confused with a break from drinking, of course. Following that I’d been juggling projects and, although things had been steadily progressing, I hadn’t managed to see any of them to completion.

…UNTIL NOW.

I managed to pull off a quick (90 second) animation with foley as a visual project for a cultural theory class, which I promptly posted to Newgrounds.com after getting the video formatting properly sorted out. It managed to earn a daily 1st award (best rated among the new submissions for that day) as well as a spot on the front page, to my surprise and delight. Thanks NG!

Go watch it on Newgrounds! I’ll have a version for YouTube at some point soon, hopefully I’ll have a breakdown page written up before that.

PAPERBAT’S BIRTHDAY

January 27th, 2010

Newgrounds user Paperbat recently turned the ripe old age of 17.
Crazy! A few NG peoplez got together and did a little birthday collab… After it went up, I did a little bit more work on my part and posted it on youtube:

.
You can play it here via the fancy lightview player BUT the video is larger on YouTube, you sexy people. And the whole collab is watchable on Newgrounds HERE.

MOAR NEWS

January 6th, 2010

Well, it’s about time for this. The past few weeks I’ve been really busy with some Newgrounds stuff, namely an art collab based on the Newgrounds users’ level icons. Originally I was thinking I’d just put one in for good measure, but I was motivated to finish more than I’d planned, which worked out great because my image gallery needs some filling up anyways. Here’s the first three!

I’ve got a fourth on the way, which should be end-of-the-week sort of thing and I might make it into a header image as well. While those are also viewable with the others from the illustration gallery here, I’d actually recommend checking them out on my Newgrounds gallery instead, because these are meant to be a bit larger and you can see them there at a higher resolution.

UP NEXT is the site redesign for thesaintscollapse.com, it’s looking grimy and outdated and frankly I think we could do better… AND SO WE SHALL. Take one last look at it, because we’re done with that nonsense. A bunch of band updates and activity will be coming along with the makeover so HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS.

I’m also doing a little voice work for an episode of a popular flash series on Newgrounds as well, I’ll link to that once it’s up… and speaking of flash I’m also putting a few little shorts together for different collaborations. Stay tuned for those!

I still have a little site tidying to do around here too, and so of course it follows that commissions are closed for the next little bit on account of having a ton of things to finish. Hopefully that won’t last long, though…

DOWN TO BIZ

November 5th, 2009

…IS WHAT WE’RE GETTING, HERE.

Really though, it’s the truth. The site setup is almost over with, and soon I’ll finally be able to get back to working on the bazillion other things that I’ve been chipping at for the past while.

Priority number one: the Paper Dolls video for The Saints Collapse. It’s a larger project so I’ve started a progress journal… check it out via the big sexy button at the top left, yonder.

Next on the plate are the illustrations for the novel War Hog by Storm Luck… followed immediately by a site redesign for The Saints Collapse’s .com and .tv domains, finishing a painting series that I began in the winter (entitled A Fence of Beaks), and storyboarding my next short video (which I’m tenatively calling Trains, but I’ll probably change that once I really get into it).

I might not update for awhile, as I anticipate being really busy smacking my head against stuff. THAT said, I’m still available for smaller projects, so don’t hesitate to email me if you needed something done…. all the pertinent information is at the ready on my Commissions page.

OH and PS, my friend and photographer Kat Arnett managed to find the myspace page of that band “Names” before I could, and here it is.

LATES!

Just saying,

October 21st, 2009

Things are coming along, although admittedly I’m having trouble deciding on an image for the top of the page (I’m not really settled on the one that’s there now, though it’s still in progress anyhow), but that should be all wrapped in a day or two. Or three or four or five. The Illustration Gallery is up and running complete with totally tricked out LightView. AWESOME!!@!@ I love image overlays so bad. It’s set to resize to your browser window, but if you’d rather view oversized versions of some of the larger images, you can check some of them out on my Newgrounds.com page where they’ll be glad to get all huge and in your face. BAM.

I just came back from K*Phanie’s birthday show, which was great… there was another band called Names, who were playing their first show but were still really cool anyways, and when I manage to find any kind of page of theirs I will be sure to post the hell out of it all up all over this bizness.

Anyhow, I’m evidently back inside not a moment too soon because it’s suddenly raining so hard out there that it sounds slimy. Anyone else live in Vancouver, and hear that non-stop in the autumn, and kind of like it? Like it or not, it’s generally a sign that it’s almost hallowe’en: prepare yourself to get kind of freaked out, and then wet, and then totally scared. And then wet some more.

STAND BY FOR LAUNCH

October 13th, 2009

Why, hello.

Amidst a storm of trying to cram in a couple of small commissions, music, and school, I’ve slowly been able to get a foothold with this site and things should be running at 100% soon. For starters, I’ve JUST finished the CD art for K*Phanie’s first demo, and the physical CD itself should be available for human consumption by some time next week via my friends at DMA.

I’ll have that and more available once I’m able to work the bugs out of my illustrations section, but for the time being I’m pretty happy that some of my older work seems to be pretty well-received on my Newgrounds.com page. In addition to generally good votes and reviews, I also snagged a daily 1st place for the Engine Light CD cover. W00t!

Check it out, and in the meantime feel free to follow me on twitter to be informed of my progress, in real-time, via asinine ramblings of no more than 140 characters in length.

Thhhhhhaaaattttsssssss it.
