I just finished animating a Marvel vs Capcom short with help again from Caxx on most of the voice work. In the style of the other Newgrounds’ MvC3 shorts (JohnnyUtah’s Iron Man, in particular), this one begins with Devil May Cry’s Dante.

I was pretty delighted to find that Wilhelm Park won daily and weekly firsts on Newgrounds– and against pretty tough odds because there’s some great stuff that just went up there this week– in addition to over 120,000 views…. all in all, better than I could’ve hoped, and it seems to be continuing in a generally good direction. Whee!

It’s been kind of a lot to think about, lately. On to the next things without too much of a pause though, WHO’S READY FOR OUR MvC3 ADVERTISEMENT!? (Not us…. at least not yet, anyways)

I reappeared as the voice of Trevor in the 4th episode of Edwin, I didn’t do any other characters this time around but I had a longer part and I I’m starting to kind of sort the character out a little. Keiran gave the series a bit of a makeover and included some soundtracky bits which I think really improved the feel of things all around, watch it HERE!

Things are coming along with my Hallowe’en… er… non-Hallowe’en… cartoon. I put together a little time-lapse breakdown for one of the moments in it just to show some technique nerdiness, click that shiz to have a look-see:

I’ve started working on a Flash for the Newgrounds Hallowe’en contest, but at this point it’s pretty clear that I’m going to miss the deadline :/
I blame the fact that I just started playing SUPER MEAT BOY, only actually I don’t blame that because it’s my own fault and not Super Meat Boy’s fault at all. Really that’s fine though, because it just means I can take more time with it.

I just finished taking part in a 24-hour animation collab organized by RicePirate and RedHarvest of Newgrounds…. everyone involved had 24 hours to come up with an idea for a small section of animation and put it into action based on a unifying theme, and at the end of the 24 hours the parts were all strung together and set to a song made by another member of the group. It’s kind of interesting to see what happens, and what people can pull off in such a short time…. the theme this time around was “samurai”, and I was pretty satisfied with what I managed to pull off under such STRENUOUS CIRCUMSTANCES, srsly.

My part was a bit too short to post to youtube on it’s own or anything though so CHECK IT OUT HERE and oh hey take a look at what everyone else did too okay jeez.

I’ve formatted a copy of Cranes for YouTube, and finished up my production notes as well. I was sure to briefly cover technical as well as conceptual points with the addition of a streaming version of the short, and now you can VIEW THEM ALL TOGETHER IN ONE PLACE (OMG)!!

Last month I did a bit of voice work for a couple characters for the third episode in Keiran Segrue’s vampire hunter series Edwin, which so far has been fairly popular on Newgrounds.com.

This episode earned some high scoring NG awards and spent some time on the front page for a bit. Watch it HERE!

I’ve been trying to broaden my voice acting ability/experience in preparation for a few upcoming animations of my own, and so hopefully will be on board for the next episode as well. Also, the characters in question may or may not intentionally look something like myself.
May or may not.
Just saying.

So it seems that I haven’t updated in months. I should mention first of all that the Winter Olympics happened, so I had to take a drinking break… which is not to be confused with a break from drinking, of course. Following that I’d been juggling projects and, although things had been steadily progressing, I hadn’t managed to see any of them to completion.

…UNTIL NOW.

I managed to pull off a quick (90 second) animation with foley as a visual project for a cultural theory class, which I promptly posted to Newgrounds.com after getting the video formatting properly sorted out. It managed to earn a daily 1st award as well as a spot on the front page, to my surprise and delight. Thanks NG!
